Minh TIEN TRAN is a soil scientist by training PhD in soil science. He gained over 10 years of experience in contribution to interdisciplinary through more than 30 research projects, in soil fertility, plant nutrition, agronomy, sustainable agricultural production, mainly in Vietnam and South-East Asia. He became director of the Soils and Fertilizers Research Institute in 2020, responsible for international cooperation and Director of the Southern Soils, Fertilizers and Environment Research. His key qualifications on soil research topics are (1) Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition (PhD thesis “Optimizing animal manure fertilizer value – Enhancement of crop nutrition by appropriate pig manure management on small-scale farms in Northern Vietnam) and (2) Post-doctoral researcher in the project “Optimizing environmentally friendly biogas production using livestock manure for the reduction greenhouse gas emissions” supported by DANIDA (Denmark).
