The monitored sites constitute a network of nested sub-basins within the Nyong River Basin (18,500 km2) in a tropical humid forest mildly impacted by anthropogenic activities on the South Cameroon Plateau. The monitoring network consists of the Nsimi SEW (Mengong stream; 0.60 km2), and the sampling/gauging stations of Messam on the Awout River (206 km2), Pont So’o on the So’o River (3000 km2), and Mbalmayo (13,500 km2) and Olama (18,500 km2), both on the Nyong River
