Main fields of research and expertise

The main research interests of Henri Robain are: (i) Integration of different surface geophysics methods (Electrical Resistivity Tomography, EM31, TDEM) for the study of the layering and the water fluxes within the critical zone principally in tropical contexts (Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Benin, Madagascar, India, Lao PDR, Thailand), and (ii) Study of soil-climate-plant relations in unconventional agricultural lands in South-East Asia and their consequences on erosion processes (fallow-cultivation successions on slopping lands in Lao PDR, rubber tree plantation on sandy, hydromorphic soils or steep slope soils in Thailand).
